VBS . . .Your Help Is Needed

VBS is scheduled

Sunday, July 23 through Wednesday, July 26.

Creation is the theme for this year and we are looking forward to lots of kids being here.

 

As in the past, your help is needed. Please begin to bring cookies and Kool Aid for refreshments to be served each night.  See Maxine Brown if you have any questions.

Senior Health and Inspiration Day

A very special day is being planned for area seniors.  The Senior Health and Inspiration Day will be Friday, June 30, 2006, at the Community Complex, 1433 Livingston Road in Crossville.  The 7th annual presentation of this event is a joint effort of the Silver Servants of the Linary Church of Christ, Fair Park Senior Center and the Cumberland Medical Center. 

             The event will begin with registration and refreshments from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. That will be followed by a presentation, “Anti-Aging and You,” also sharing of some anti-aging tips for senior citizens.  Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the exhibits from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. 

             Numerous exhibits will be set up to offer information; some of which will also provide health screenings. Free blood sugar testing will be given.  Screenings for blood pressure, colon cancer, and diabetes will be offered.  There will be a demonstration of exercises that can be done while seated in a chair. Mini-massages will be available from CMC Massage Therapy.  Door prizes, including some from the exhibitors, will be given throughout the seminar to attendees.

             Ricky Burse, minister of Linary Church of Christ, will close the session with inspirational thoughts as participants enjoy lunch together.  A free, heart-healthy,  lunch will be served to all in attendance and recipes will be made available.  During the meal, entertainment will be provided by “Vertical,” a Christian singing group.
