Leadership Retreat:
    Adventures in Attitudes

November 10-12, 2000 with Willard Tate

The elders, deacons, ministers, and their wives spent the weekend sharing with each other and digging into their own attitudes. It was a powerful, and therefore tearful, weekend. Hugs should be in the pyramid of basic food groups!

Class time ran from 3 to 10 on Friday, 8 am to 10 pm on Saturday, and 8 am to 2 pm on Sunday. It was intense but beneficial. 

The goal = to learn to become a person who helps others grow by:

• giving praise and encouragemen

• being toleran

• listening

• trying to understand

• sharing yourself

• searching for the good in others

• helping them dream

• dismissing their blunders and mistakes

• being kind

• love

• trust and respect them

• above all, treasure your own ability to grow

The night after the retreat concluded, the meeting facility burned to the ground. That puts a lot of things in perspective!
