Marlo Tollett - Moshi, Tanzania

Members of this mission taught English in a local school, using the Old Testament. There are many Moslems in this area so using the Old Testament reduces problems. They also worked with an orphanage and distributed medical and nutritional aid.

The students were in 5th and 6th grade. Students must pass an exam at the end of 8th grade to get into high school. The test is mostly in English but the local native language is Swahili. It is very important to these students to learn English well. Only 2% of students go to high school.
